OpenVPN (Windows setup)
Introduction
OpenVPN is a versatile protocol that can be utilized using TCP or UDP on any port. It also includes Stealth Mode (TLS-Crypt) and a new version of Stealth Mode v2 (TLS-Crypt-V2) which can be used to unblock 'tough' firewalls. Follow the instructions below to manually set OpenVPN on your Windows device.
Step 1
Head to the VPN99 CRM at clients.vpn99.net and sign in with your login credentials.
Step 2
From the left hand menu, click on "Services" > Select your Active Service > Click "Show Advanced Credentials" .
Step 3
From the VPN Profile Generator, kindly pick the desired protocol and server. Press on Download to generate the requested OpenVPN profile.
Please choose OpenVPN Stealth v2 if you are trying to connect from Russia, China, Iran, UAE and other countries with restricted firewalls.

Download OpenVPN - https://openvpn.net/community-downloads/
Please make sure to download the appropriate version for your Operating System.
Step 5
Click the Download Icon > "Run" and "Install" > Once downloaded find it on the lower right corner of your taskbar or you may open it via the App shortcut on your desktop.
Step 6
If you haven't already done so, open the VPN Profile Generator (Step 3 above) from the CRM and download the relevant OpenVPN profile.
Gentle reminder: Your "Advanced VPN Credentials" should ONLY be the user name and password you use for any manual connections (for ex. OpenVPN or WireGuard). Please do NOT use your VPN99 user name and password.

Step 7
Once the server config has been generated and downloaded -> Go to the top right corner of your screen to find the "Download history". From there kindly click on the Protocol name and you'll be prompted that the file has been imported successfully.
Step 8
Go to the Windows taskbar on the bottom right-hand corner of your screen, then right-click the OpenVPN icon > Import the downloaded file. Then open the menu again and click on Connect.
Step 9
The last step is to simply type in or paste your Advanced Credentials from your VPN99 CRM (Step 2 above) > Opt-in to 'Save password' > Press OK and you are ready to go!
Troubleshooting
If you are unable to establish an OpenVPN for any reason, then please open the OpenVPN tray bar menu > select the connection you tried > click on View Log. Please save the log and send it over to our support team.
